MBS conducted a day trip to a safe location with families of autistic children and LD needs. This location was to allow culturally sensitive engagement for families and sharing experiences. Children had the space to safely interact with others and involve in non competitive motivating activities. #mentalhealthandwell-beingforall
Our 2nd Merseyside/MBS police expo successfully came to an end on the 5th of August 2022.This expo has built Trust and brought positivity between Ethnic minority communities and the local police. Together let us improve community relationships and support mental health and well-being being for all.
The Trustees and Board of MBS for mental health and well-being in Bame UK would like to congratulate our CEO Ms. Justine Kigozi Nakimuli on winning the Queens platinum award for supporting families of BAME background with mental health and well-being in the Northwest of England.
Ms Nakimuli is a registered mental health nurse for the last 19yrs. She is a leader in NHS, the community and a researcher in academia.
Ms. Nakimuli voluntary community work dates back from 2007. She creates awareness via YouTube videos in both English and her local dialect Luganda. She saw the increased need in this area and started live Facebook tutorials every weekend on mental health awareness in BAME population.
Due to the popularity of her information, Ms. Nakimuli commenced community presentations in Churches, mosques, schools and other public places as a volunteer… Ms. Nakimuli continues to support and advocate for families and patients of BAME background with mental illness, autism or learning disabilities.

This is a chance for our BME young people from 15-18yrs to have a week’s exposure of activities and recruitment processes in Merseyside police. The program runs for 1week Monday to Friday 09am-5pm Transport and meals are provided for all young people in attendance.
Objective: To allow families of black African background to share loved experiences of either parenting children with a diagnosis of autism or experts by experiences sharing their journey.
Forum: Zoom focus groups every other week.
Aim: To provide a safe space but also allow project lead to collect the necessary information needed to improve knowledge of the subject and stamp our stigma in people of black African background.
